What is OPHC?
Operation Heroes Connect is a nonprofit organization that partners volunteer service members and veterans with at risk youth. Founded in 2012, Operation Heroes Connect wanted to give back to the communities that have continued to support us. With so many children in need of a positive role model in their lives, the service members and veterans of OPHC can and want to answer that call.
Welcome to Operation Heroes Connect!
Founded in 2012, Operation Heroes Connect (OPHC) provides local youth with full time active duty and veteran mentors. The relationships fostered between our mentors and their respective mentees has proven to have a positive impact within the community and more importantly the mentees within our program.
In addition to its mentor program, the organization provides an annual camp program dedicated to providing a free camp experience to local youth who otherwise aren’t able to attend a summer camp due to financial restraints. Due to her own troubled upbringing our founder wanted to assist local youth through some of the rough patches that she herself experienced growing up.
The desire our mentors have to serve their country expands far beyond the front lines and foreign soil. Our need to serve our local communities are fueled by a deep belief that we have an obligation to “pay it forward” both in-and-out of uniform.
