What is OPHC?
Operation Heroes Connect is a non-profit organization that provides support, resources, and mentorship to military service members, veterans, and local communities. The organization's programs and initiatives are designed to help address the unique challenges and sense of unfulfillment faced by many transitioning veterans by allowing these veterans to continue to give back in a huge way as counselors, mentors, and camp facilitators to youth in the D.C, Maryland and Virginia areas. Through our community engagement programs the organization also provides a platform for veterans to reconnect and share their experiences with one another.
Welcome to Operation Heroes Connect!
Founded in 2011, Our mission is to create a positive impact in our community by providing mentorship and support to local at-risk youth, as well as resources and programs to help address the unique challenges faced by transitioning military service members an veterans looking to continue their service to their communities. We aim to empower our nation's heroes to succeed in every aspect of their lives, including mental health, career development, and community engagement. We also strive to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, providing homeless dinner services, adopt-a-family program assistance over the holidays, and annual summer camp programs for youth. By leveraging the leadership and service-oriented values instilled in us through our military experience, we endeavor to create a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve and inspire others to do the same.
In addition to its mentorship program, the organization provides an annual camp program dedicated to providing a free camp experience to local youth who otherwise aren’t able to attend a summer camp due to financial restraints. Due to her own troubled upbringing our founder wanted to assist local youth through some of the rough patches that she herself experienced growing up.
The desire our mentors have to serve their country expands far beyond the front lines and foreign soil. Our need to serve our local communities are fueled by a deep belief that we have an obligation to “pay it forward” both in-and-out of uniform.

Our Mentorship Program
Our mission at Operation Heroes Connect is to partner local youth with military and veteran mentors helping them to explore and access the support, resources, and opportunities necessary for them to reach their full potential and make positive choices in their lives. Operation Heroes Connect provides support, guidance, friendship, role modeling, assistance, and an attentive ear to those in need.
Our Volunteer Program
Through our volunteer program we want to give back to those who have continued to support us. Our program is centered towards helping out in our local communities from donating our time and resources to homeless shelters, organizing food drives, and assisting others. It is our pleasure to have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in our community!
